Both can be good ideas, though it really depends on the cartoon more than anything. Some of these found success because they followed the elements from the cartoon very closely, while others have decided to think outside the box. There are a couple of games based on cartoons that have been very successful, such as S impsons Hit & Run, Dragon Ball FighterZ, TMNT: Turtles in Time, and DuckTales for the NES. Each style of game has its own strength and weaknesses, and the best choice to take advantage of the previous elements would be a point-and-click adventure, because it would allow for the story to come through alongside the art in the style of the show. series, a platformer or turn-based role playing game are strong options.
